Ben Botts enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for Fort Wayne in 2017-18.
One of the top shooters in Fort Wayne program history as a player, Botts now owns four years experience on the Mastodon bench. The 'Dons have made the postseason in each of his four years on the coaching staff. That stretch includes the program's first ever NIT berth.
Botts spent the 2013-14 season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Princeton University, where he helped the program to a 21-9 overall record. For the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons he was a graduate assistant coach at Xavier University, where he worked under Chris Mack for a team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16".
As a player at Fort Wayne he scored 1,400 career points, which ranks fifth all-time in program history. He helped the program to its first two winning seasons as members of NCAA Division I. He was named Second Team All-Summit League in 2011, and was a 2010 and 2011 recipient of the NCAA Division I-AAA Athletic Director's Association Scholar Athlete award, and a 2011 Capital One Academic All-District honoree.
