Billy King was named the third head coach of the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf program in the spring of 2009. He was also the interim head coach for the women's golf team in 2021.

King has been a staple of Northeast Indiana for decades, as he graduated from Woodlan High School in 1984, lettering in football and golf. He has since been spending the majority of his life working in the golf business.

King and his wife Cindy have two daughters, Ashley and Alexis. They reside in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
