Carol Duncan joined the Fort Wayne women's basketball program as an assistant coach in August of 2016.
She joined the Mastodons after spending the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach at the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) focusing her time on the team's strength and conditioning, opponent scouting, and player skill development. It was Duncan's first season since a five-year hiatus from collegiate coaching.
Duncan's previous college coaching experience included two years as an assistant at Northwestern University (2007 and 2008) and two seasons at Murray State University (2009 and 2010) where the Racers won the 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Regular Season Championship and a berth to the WNIT post-season tournament.
Most recently, Duncan worked under a variety of titles for Gym Rats Basketball where she refined her skill training instruction, girls' team coaching, event fund-raising and community service.
Duncan spent her collegiate playing career at Purdue University where she received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 2006. While playing for the Boilermakers, she won a pair of Big Ten Tournament Championships (2003 and 2004), played in the NCAA tournament each of her four years, and was a three-time Academic Big Ten selection. Duncan completed her master's degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern University in 2010.
Duncan is a 2002 graduate of NorthWood High School in Nappanee, Indiana. While at NorthWood, the Panthers won the 1999 Indiana High School Athletic Association Girls Basketball 3A state championship. She was an Indianapolis Star Junior and Senior All-Star, and three-sport athlete (volleyball, basketball and track).
