The 2020 season is Jeff Richey’s sixth year as the goalkeeper coach for the Purdue Fort Wayne men’s and women’s soccer teams.
A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Richey competed for the Mastodons from 1996-00. He was a four-year letterwinner in goal and helped the Mastodons to their a NCAA tournament appearance in 1999. With Richey, the Mastodons won the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament and made it all the way to the Elite 8. For his efforts, he was named All-Midwest Region and an All-American.
Richey went on to have a successful professional career for 16 years. He played for the Milwaukee Wave, Chicago Storm, Riot, Soul, St. Louis Ambush, and Kansas City. In 2001, he helped the Milwaukee Rampage to an A-league Championship. Richey was also the starting goalie for the United States Futsal World Cup Team which competed in Brazil.
Richey currently resides in Fort Wayne with his wife Jill and three kids.
