Rachel Holycross joined Purdue Fort Wayne Athletics in August 2012 and was named the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in November 2017. She oversees Purdue Fort Wayne’s compliance department and is responsible for monitoring the eligibility of more than 300 student-athletes. She is the sport administrator for Cross Country and Track and Field.
She began her time at Purdue Fort Wayne as the Assistant Director of Compliance. She assisted in managing the daily operations of the compliance office, including implementing and monitoring all policies and procedures in the areas of recruiting, playing and practice seasons, financial aid, and eligibility. Additionally, she provided coaches and staff with rules education and interpretations.
Before coming to Purdue Fort Wayne, she served as the Compliance Coordinator at Syracuse University, where she was responsible for coordinating the daily operations in the areas of financial aid, promotional activities, and student-athlete employment.
She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School with a Juris Doctorate in 2011 and was admitted to the Indiana bar in 2011. During her time in law school, Holycross worked as a student research assistant to Notre Dame Associate Dean Ed Edmonds, compiling information regarding Major League Baseball salary arbitration and other projects. She was also a legal extern to Notre Dame Associate Athletics Director Jill Bodensteiner and served as a compliance intern.
She earned a bachelor of business administration from the University of Notre Dame in 2008, where she served as a student athletic manager for both the football and men’s basketball programs.
She is a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) and serves on the Legislation and Governance Committee.
She resides in Fort Wayne with her husband, Matthew and son, Lincoln and daughter, Emma.
