Luya was a part of the 1999 NCAA Elite Eight squad that finished with a 17-4-2 record, winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament and regular season title. That season, the squad reeled off a school-record 10 consecutive victories before falling to Charleston (W.Va.) on the road in the NCAA Tournament.
He scored 27 goals in his career, including a career-high nine as a freshman in 1999. His goal total ranks fifth in school history, while his 63 points rank sixth and nine assists sit 10th. He started 51 of 74 matches during his career, and knocked in a pair of game-winning goals. He is joined in the Athletics Hall of Fame by former teammates Matt Hein and Jeff Richey.
