Mastodons Finish Strong at Home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Golf programs hosted their first Division I tournament with many successes. As a team the Mastodons broke all team and individual records. The Mastodons finished in fourth with an 865 and had five individuals in the top 20. Loyola Chicago took the title after a playoff with Oakland with a final of 848.
Nathan Hoff led the Dons with a 212, one under par, finishing
tied for third. Jimmy Joachim finished in the top 10 with a 214, tying him for 7th place.
Hoff and Joachim broke the low 18 record with a 68. Joachim broke the low 36 with a 140 on day one. Hoff then broke the low 54 with a final score of 212.
All team records were broke at the IPFW Fall Classic. The Mastodons shot a 284 on their final round to break the low 18 team record. IPFW then broke their 36 hole team record at the end of day one with a 581. The low 54 record didn't stand a chance after day two as the Dons finished with an 865.
Individual titles went to Loyola Chicago's Sean Bidzinski with a 205 for first and Oakland's Jonathan Pauli who scored a 208 as the runner-up.
The Mastodons will not return to the course until March when they head south for the Butler North/South Intercollegiate in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
