
Jackson Sets New Record vs. Delaware State

Moon Township, PA - Senior Claire Jackson set a new single match hitting percentage record against Delaware State Friday night as the Mastodons went 2-0 at the Omni William Penn Duquesne/RMU Invitational. The 'Dons defeated Delaware State and Robert Morris, 3-0.
IPFW v. Delaware State
The Mastodons had no trouble with the Hornets of Delaware State, defeating them 3-0 with final scores of 30-16, 30-22, 30-22.
Senior Claire Jackson set a new single match hitting percentage record after going 11 for 13 with no errors. She hit an impressive .846 for the match. Fellow senior Amanda Pfister was the only other 'Don in double figure kills, finishing with 10 and hitting .381.
Sophomore setter Jessica Dominiak was not far behind Jackson's percentage, going 4 for 5 and hitting at .800 she also posted 25 assists for the match.
Cynara Martins led in digs, putting up 13 balls for IPFW. Frosh Shannon Reuter dug up 7 balls and had 12 assists for the night.
For Delaware State, Ayana Dyette finished with 8 kills with Kyla Michalski had 18 assists.
IPFW v. Robert Morris
The Mastodons had to work a little bit more, but had the same result in the end as the earlier match, a win. The 'Dons defeated Robert Morris 3-0 with final scores of 30-27, 30-28, 32-30.
Martins led the charge in the evening match, posting 13 kills and a .297 hitting percentage. Rebekah Roehm added nine kills for the Mastodons.
Dominiak and Reuter shared the setting duties for the night. Dominiak posted 32 assists and Reuter 11.
Defensive duties were split between Nicole Howell, Martins and Peachy Jankowski. Martins and Jankowski each dug up 15 balls while Howell finished with 14.
For Robert Morris, three Colonials finished in double figure kills. Emily Wolthuis had 13, Janette Schneider 11, and Jennifer Stambaugh killed 10 for the night.
Tawnya Storino recorded 32 assists and Alaina Gibson dug up 31 balls.
IPFW will face St. Francis (PA) on Saturday at 3:30 pm and Duquesne at 7:30 pm. Their next home match is Tuesday, September 6th at 7 pm versus the Toledo Rockets.
