
IPFW Falls to #22 Michigan at Invite

Ann Arbor, MI - The Mastodons traveled to #22 Michigan for the Michigan/Nike Invitational this weekend. Host Michigan was IPFW's first challenge with the Wolverines taking the match in three.
IPFW fell, 3-0, by a final of 22-30, 26-30, 22-30.
The Mastodons were led by Jessica Miller with 9 kills on 18 attempts. She hit a .389 proficiency. Miller also led in blocking with one solo and three assists. She had 11.5 points for the match.
Patty Azevedo posted eight kills in the three set match. Rebekah Roehm posted four block solos for IPFW.
Jessica Dominiak and Shannon Reuter shared setting duties for the match. Dominiak posted 19 assists while Reuter had 11. Peachy Jankowski hit double digit digs for the night with ten.
The Wolverines were led by Katie Bruzdzinski with 16 kills. Two other ladies finished in double digit kills, Megan Bowman and Erin Penn each with 10 kills.
Stesha Selsky hit a double-double with 37 assists and 12 digs.
The Mastodons were out-hit .314 to .144 but matched the Wolverines on blocking with seven team blocks each.
IPFW (6-8) will face the Rice Owls tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 pm at the Cliff Keen Arena. The Mastodons will finish out the tournament with New Hampshire at 5:00 pm Saturday night.
The Mastodons next home match is next weekend, September 22-23rd when they host the IPFW Invitational. The Invite will feature Robert Morris, North Florida, South Dakota State and Texas Pan American.
