
IPFW Sweeps Broncs, Jacks at Invitational

Fort Wayne, IN - In day one of the 2006 IPFW Invitational the Mastodons made a sweep, defeating Texas Pan American in the afternoon, 3-0 and South Dakota State, 3-0 in the nightcap.

The Mastodons made an easy match of the Lady Broncs, defeating them in three, 30-27, 30-15, 30-22.
Jessica Miller was the only 'Don in double digits with 10 kills. Claire Jackson was close behind with eight. She added five block solos and six block assists, contributing to IPFW's 13 total blocks.
Nicole Howell led on the serve, knocking down four aces in the match. Rebekah Roehm hit three aces in the three game match.
Jessica Dominiak controlled, posting 33 assists. Peachy Jankowski led on the defense with 11 digs. Howell was close behind with ten.
The Lady Broncs had two ladies in double digit kills. Kellie Phillips had 11 and Monique Schaal had 10.
Chelsea Blakely had 36 assist and Heather Bravo led the defense with 10 digs.
IPFW v. South Dakota State
The Mastodons started their nightcap with a rout of the Jackrabbits, 18-30. The 'Dons never stopped, taking the next two, 30-26, 30-23.
Martins hit a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. She added two block assists in the three game match.
Roehm just missed double figures with nine kills. She hit a .500 efficiency. Roehm led in block solos with three for the evening.
Dominiak picked up 43 assists. Jamie Schwartz hit double digit digs with ten.
Kristina Martin led the Jacks with 14 kills. Kristie Klusaw had a double-double with 30 assists and 13 digs.
Samantha Pearson dug up 12 balls for the Jacks.
Earlier in the day Robert Morris defeated Texas Pan American in a five game match. The Colonials defeated the Lady Broncs, 30-26, 25-30, 30-21, 27-30, 15-12.
The Jackrabbits defeated the Ospreys of North Florida in three games in the first match of the day. SDSU won 30-21, 30-28, 30-24.
The 2006 IPFW Invitational continues on Saturday with four matches.
