Fort Wayne, IN - IPFW outshot Morehead State, 11-3, but the Eagles were able to win Sunday afternoon's match at the Hefner Soccer Complex, 1-0.
The Mastodons (2-3-0) had their chances, but just couldn't dial it in when they needed to. IPFW hit a crossbar, a post, and had a game tying goal waved off because of an offsides call.
Meanwhile, Morehead State (2-4-0) got the game's only goal on a 30-yard blast from freshman Lindsey Stefanini. Stefanini's shot, from the left side of IPFW keeper Shannon Lynn, just snuck underneath the crossbar at the 31:02 mark in the first half.
IPFW freshman forward Ashley Hansbury fired off four of IPFW's 11 shots on goal in the match.
MSU keeper Leslie King turned back 10 IPFW shots, while her defense was able to clear a shot in the first half.
Lynn made three saves in the loss. I
PFW will now travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan for a Wednesday match (4pm.) with Eastern Michigan.
