South Bend, IN - The IPFW cross country team competed in the 51st Notre Dame Invitational on Friday afternoon. The men ran an 8K distance.

In team action, the Mastodons finished 24th in the Gold Division. Finishing in the top five for IPFW were Hunter Paris (Fort Wayne, IN/Carroll), Mike Ridenour (Fort Wayne, IN/Northrop), Andrew Gritzmaker (Fort Wayne, IN), Wes Kuhn (Fort Wayne, IN/Leo), and Mark Green (Atlanta, IN/Hamilton Heights).

Individually, Paris placed 33rd out of more than 170 runners. His time of 25:47 set a new school record, shattering the previous record of 26:14 set by Jason Sorg in 2001.

The men's cross country team will travel south to Disney World in Orlando, FL next week to compete in the Disney Classic on Saturday, October 7, 2006.
