Mastodon Men's XC Sets Seven PR's at #HLXC Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country program finished with seven personal record times at the Horizon League Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning (Nov. 1). Colten Gasson notched his name in the program's top-10 8k list with his time on the Mastodon Cross Country Course.
Sam Dunnett led the 'Dons in the championship race, finishing in 32nd (24:51.7). Colten Gasson's time of 25:01.4 puts him seventh on the program's 8k record book, earning 40th at the meet. Freshman Jack Strong ran a personal record 25:07.3 for 43rd. Harrison Niswander placed 44th (25:13.1). Boden Genovese's personal record time of 25:36.1 and 63rd place rounded out the Purdue Fort Wayne top-five finishers.
The next four Mastodon finishers notched personal records on their home turf. Marcus Ridge finished in 69th (25:42.8), Kale Seymour placed 74th (25:47.4), Colin Gasson earned 77th (25:51.3) and Joshua Roper earned 96th (26:44.7).
Jackson Marshall finished in 101st (27:13.5), Andrew Arnos earned 105th (27:33.4) and Jack Mills placed 107th (27:53.6).
Purdue Fort Wayne finished in ninth as a team, totaling 209 points. Youngstown State won the Horizon League Championship with 50 points, Oakland earned runner-up with 92.
The Mastodons will travel to Evansville on November 14 for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
