Fort Wayne, IN - Oral Roberts University goal keeper Stef Gurley broke a school record on Sunday afternoon with her 18th career shutout in the Golden Eagles' 5-0 win over IPFW.

Gurley turned back all three of the IPFW shots she faced for her sixth shutout of the 2007 season as well.

The first half was tightly played, but a fortunate bounce led to the Golden Eagles' first score.  IPFW, trying to clear the ball out of the box, hit ORU junior defender Natalya Manyan.  The ball bounced right to the foot of sophomore forward Marissa Rangerger who beat IPFW keeper Malinda Holmer low to the far side. 

The goal at teh 22:10 mark was the only score of the first half.  However, the Golden Eagles (7-5-2, 2-1-2 SL) turned up the heat with four scores in the second half.

ORU made it 2-0 in the 50th minute on some nice passing.  Freshman midfielder Jordan Miller found sophomore midfielder Tara Lomas in the middle at the 18 yard box.  Lomas sent a touch pass to sophomore midfielder Jessica Harthcock, who beat Holmer with a quick flick to the right side from about eight yards out.

Lomas gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 margin at the 64:34 mark.  After receiving a feed from senior midfielder Emily Gagnon, Lomas dribbled past Holmer and tapped the ball into the open net.

In the 78th minute, it was freshman forward Shakira Duncan picking up a loose ball and sliding a shot home from 10 yards out to the right side.

Duncan looked like she was going to get her second goal of the match in the 80th minute, but Holmer made a diving stop on Duncan's blast.  Unfortunately for the 'Dons, the rebound went right to freshman forward Brittany Winslow, who was camped on the door step.  She tapped in the rebound for the final goal of the match.

While Holmer gave up five scores, she also made a number of outstanding saves in the contest.  Holmer turned back 10 ORU shots in the match.

Overall, ORU out shot IPFW, 26-5.

The Mastodons fall to 1-13-0, 1-4-0 SL.  They return to Summit League action on Friday evening with a match at IUPUI.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
