
Falcons Defeat Mastodons in Three

Bowling Green, OH - The Mastodons headed to Bowling Green State for a mid-week non-conference match-up. The Falcons swept the 'Dons, 3-0 (22-30, 19-30, 26-30).
The Falcons started game one with a 4-1 run before the 'Dons pulled the difference to two points at 6-4. BGSU would make a 3-1 run to take a four point lead at 9-5, before they would trade points back and forth. The 'Dons would cut the lead to one at 15-14 on a kill by Jessica Miller.
IPFW would continue to hold in the match, trading points until 24-22. The Falcons would go on a 6-0 run to end the game, 30-22.
Game two would start off similar to game one. The 'Dons would be within one at 10-9, before the Falcons would pull ahead by two again at 13-11. BGSU would put up five points in a row, 18-11, and continue to hold that lead until the end, 19-30.
The Mastodons would keep game three close at first, before the Falcons took a five point lead at 12-7. Bowling Green would push their lead to eight at 21-13 before IPFW surged, going on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to five, 21-19. Bowling Green would use a few quick runs to spread the lead to five at 28-23. IPFW wasn't done yet, taking the next three points, 28-26. Bowling Green would finish the match ahead, 30-26.
The Mastodons were led by Miller with 16 kills. Rebekah Roehm also hit double-digits with 10 kills.
Jessica Dominiak had 23 assists and was 5 of 10 on the attack with a .400 hitting percentage for the night.
Shannon Reuter also spent time as the setter for the 'Dons. She dished out 12 assists.
Peachy Jankowski had 18 digs, taking her career number to 1,921 digs. Cynara Martins dug 14 balls for IPFW.
Bowling Green State was led by Corey Domek and Stephanie Swiger with 15 kills each. Sam Fish posted 47 assists while Chelsey Meek had 24 digs.
The Mastodons (9-8, 3-3 Summit League) will now prepare for two Summit League matches this weekend. The 'Dons host South Dakota State on Friday and IUPUI on Saturday. Both matches are in the Gates Center and start at 7 PM.
