
'Dons Drop Final Road Game

Edinburg, TX - The Women's Basketball team wrapped up their 2006-07 road schedule at Texas-Pan American on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Broncs held a four point lead at half and carried that over in the second for the win, 68-47.
The Mastodons started the first half off on the right foot, taking an eight point lead, 14-6 at the 13:28 mark. UTPA would answer back, going on an 11-2 run to take the lead from IPFW, 17-16.
The 'Dons answered back, taking their own one point lead with 4:24 left, 22-21. UTPA goes on a 5-0 run to take a four point lead into half, 26-22.
The second half starts off with a back-and-forth battle with UTPA holding a two point lead at the 16:14 mark, 33-31. The Lady Broncs would take their first double-digit lead at 11:43, 41-31.
Texas-Pan American would continue to hold a double-digit lead to the end. The Lady Broncs ended the game ahead by 21 points, 68-47.
Johnna Lewis-Carlisle led the 'Dons offensively with 18 points. She was 7 of 19 from the field with four assists and two steals.
Ashley Johnson posted five boards and three assists. Nanyamka Moore also passed the ball with three assists.
UTPA finished with three ladies in double figures. Teshay Winfrey had 20 points and MaHogany Daniel had 14 while LeKeisha Gray had ten points.
The Mastodons (12-15) will host South Dakota State on March 1st at 7 PM in the Gates Center. Their final game of the season is March 3rd at 1 PM in Gates. They will host North Dakota State.
