
Hoosiers Shutout 'Dons

Bloomington, IN - IPFW had their chances against Indiana University of Sunday at Sembower Field. Unfortunately the Mastodons couldn't get the big hit when they needed it and were shutout by the final of 4-0.
The Hoosiers got all they need in the 2nd inning. Designated hitter Reid Bruglia led off the inning with a walk. First baseman Ben Greenspan singled to right putting runners on the corners.
Right fielder Chris Hervey singled through the left side scoring Bruglia.
IU got their second run on a fielder's choice off of the bat of Evan Crawford.
The Hoosiers finished off the three-run second with an RBI single from left fielder Justin Morales.
IPFW starter Donnie Sixt survived the inning and cruised along until the seventh.
IU got an insurance run via an RBI double from center fielder Sterling Mack.
IPFW had runners on base in every inning but the sixth and ninth but couldn't string together hits when they needed them.
Freshman second baseman Mark Carden was the only 'Don to have a multiple hit game with a double and a single.
IU freshman starter Matt Bashore tossed five innings of three-hit ball for his third win of the season.
Sixt took the loss, throwing eight innings. He gave up four runs on eight hits, three earned. Sixt struck out four and walked just one.
Indiana improves to 10-8 with the two-game sweep.
IPFW falls to 4-18.
The Mastodons, who have played just one home game so far this season, travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan Tuesday to take on the Michigan Wolverines. Game time is 3:00pm.
