
Mastodons Continue to Roll in The Summit

Indianapolis, IN - The Summit League's leading scorer, Johnna Lewis-Carlisle tossed in 18 and sophomore guard Courtney Reed added 16 as IPFW drilled IUPUI, 68-50 on Saturday afternoon in the Jungle.
The win is IPFW's third straight, and puts the Mastodons all alone in third place in the Summit League, just a game out of second.
IPFW started off quickly in this one as a Reed triple was sandwiched around a pair of treys from IPFW freshman guard Jordan Zuppe.
In fact, after trailing 2-0, IPFW didn't see the wrong side of the score the rest of the game.
Lewis-Carlise hit a jumper with :05 left in the first half to give the 'Dons a 29-18 lead at the break.
In the second half, IUPUI made a run, cutting the lead to seven on a layup by sophomore center Julia Whitted.
IPFW responded with a pair of triples from Reed and Lewis-Carlisle, making it 49-36 at the 10:20 mark.
Reed stuck the last of her four triples with just :38 seconds left and the 'Dons rolled to the 18 point win.
Lewis-Carlise also had eight rebounds and five assists in the win.
IPFW senior center Juliane Hohne also scored in double-digits for the 'Dons, finishing with 11 points and six boards.
Whitted registered a double-double for the Jags. She posted a 20 point, 10 rebound night.
The 'Dons shot 48.0% from the field, while holding IUPUI (8-12, 4-4) to just 33.3%.
With the win, Coach Chris Paul has his team in good shape at 8-11, 5-3.
IPFW will be at first place Western Illinois (9-10, 7-1) on Monday night.
