Women's Golf Completes F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The IPFW women's golf team finished the second round of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate Tuesday hosted by Austin Peay State University.
The Mastodons finished in 16th out of 17 teams in the very competitve tournament with a two day score of 340-344 (684). The 'Dons finished seven shots behind 15th place Cleveland State who totaled a 677. Behind IPFW was Tennessee State with a two day 441-376 (817).
Tennessee Tech captured the tournament title with a two day team score of 312-308 (620). Murray State, who was in first yesterday, carded 310-312 (622). Rounding out the top five teams were Arkansas State University (626), Morehead State (637), and Belmont Univeristy (637).
Taking home the individual honors for the tournament was Belmont's Lorie Warren who shot a 71-74 (145).
IPFW junior Jillian Speece shot an 80-82 (162), good for a 29th place tie. Alison Rathsman finished tied for 43rd for the 'Dons with a 165. Abbey Waltke shot a 177 for IPFW and Jacque Speece finished with a 183. Nikki LeRose, who withdrew yesterday after three holes due to illness, played today and shot an 88.
The 'Dons will have a week off of competition before returning to the links for the University of Dayton Women's Golf Fall Invite in Kettering, Ohio beginning on October 27th.
