Women's Golf in Eighth at Dayton Fall Invite

KETTERING, Ohio - The IPFW women's golf team began its last tournament of the fall season Monday at the University of Dayton's Fall Invite. The Mastodons are currently in eighth out of 10 teams.
The 'Dons were led Monday by junior Jillian Speece who fired an 86 ( 14). Abbey Waltke had a strong day as she finished with an 88, good for 25th. Jacque Speece finished tied for 35th with a 90, while Nikki LeRose and Stephanie Hoppes finished with 94, and 97 respectively.
Leading the Dayton Fall Invite after day one is Eastern Illinois who?shot?327 as a team. Eastern's Carrie Riordan is tied with the University of Toledo's Boram Lee with a first round low of 79.
IPFW shot a 358, which is only five strokes behind seventh place host?Dayton (353).
The Mastodons look to have a strong day tomorrow to close out their fall season schedule on the par 72 NCR Country Club.
