Thunderbirds Fly Past Mastodons

Cedar City, UT- Despite three shots on goal from sophomore Melanie Esposito, the IPFW women's soccer team was defeated by the Southern Utah Thunderbirds 1-0, Friday afternoon in Cedar City, Utah. The Mastodons look to regroup next Friday against Centenary College.
Despite its best offensive showing of the season, IPFW couldn't net a goal in regulation. The match was scoreless until the 61st minute when Shaley Ipson-Allen scored off a breakaway, to make the score 1-0. The `Dons had opportunities to even the score with eight shots on goal in the contest, but Thunderbird goalkeeper Sutton Fox made impressive saves all afternoon.
In the loss, the IPFW offense received shots on goal from Melanie Esposito (3), Kateri Till (1), Danielle Orlandella (1), Justine LeBlanc (1), Tara O'Toole (1) and Kari Gotschall (1). IPFW goalkeeper Kristen McFadden had 9 saves in the conest.
Next up for IPFW is an away match against Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.
