Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW women's volleyball team ran its current winning streak to three matches with a 3-0 sweep of Centenary College on Saturday night at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
The 'Dons won the match by the set scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-9.
IPFW took control of the first set early on as senior libero Christine Simon served the 'Dons to five straight points giving IPFW a 7-3 advantage.
Senior middle hitter Kylee Hervey and junior outside hitter Rebekah Roehm each blasted three kills in the set and the Mastodon block was in effect, sending back five Centenary attempts giving IPFW the first set by 11.
In the second set, the Ladies turned up the intensity. Centenary clawed back from an early 8-3 deficit to pull to within one as Christina Golden put down three balls, and on successive kills by Brianna Kern, the Ladies tied the set at 16.
IPFW was able to pull out in front again on kills by senior outside hitter Jessica Miller and junior middle hitter Taryn Parker. The Mastodons would eventually capture that second stanza on a blocking error by the Ladies.
The 'Dons were all business in the third and final set. IPFW raced out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back. Junior setter Shannon Reuter got in on the scoring with a pair of kills, and senior setter Jessica Dominiak ended the match with the kill of her own.
Miller was the only player in the match to register double-digit kills with 10. She also slugged .304 on the night.
Roehm booked seven kills while Hervey and sophomore outside hitter Maya Schlindwein added six.
Kern led the Centenary offense with six kills.
IPFW outblocked the Ladies (4-10, 0-10 SL) 10.0 to 3.0. Hervey had a block solo and six block assists. Miller added four block assists.
With the win, IPFW improves to 14-11 overall and 9-3 in the Summit League.
