
Jaguars Spoil Mastodons Comeback

Fort Wayne, IN - IUPUI sophomore center Julia Whitted carried the Jaguars to a, 72-62 overtime win over IPFW on "Senior Night" at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center on Monday.
Whitted scored a game-high 24 points, including nine in overtime to spoil IPFW's furious late game comeback.
The Mastodons were down by six, 57-51, with just :54 left in regulation.
IPFW freshman guard Jordan Zuppe knocked down a triple to cut it to three, then with :09 seconds left, on the break, Zuppe stepped behind the three-point line and tied the game at 57 with another clutch three.
Blocked shots by sophomore forward Samantha Edwards and senior Natalie Roberts sent the game to overtime.
In OT, IUPUI's game plan was to kick it inside and let Whitted go to work. The sophomore responded with a pair of layups and three trips to the charity stripe, while IPFW went cold.
Whitted finished the contest with 13 rebounds as well for a double-double. She was one of five Jags to hit for double digits in the contest. Junior forward Janisha Cann also posted a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Senior guard Johnna Lewis-Carlisle scored a team-high 17 points in her final game at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.
Senior forward Natalie Roberts booked a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Edwards was the only other 'Don in double figures with 13.
IUPUI shot 42.9% from the floor, while IPFW managed only 33.8% from the field.
The Jags (14-15, 10-7 SL) outrebounded the Mastodons, 46-42 and enjoyed a 23-31 night at the foul line. IPFW made six of their 11 attempts from the stripe.
With the loss, IPFW falls to 10-17, 7-9 in The Summit League.
The Mastodons will finish out the regular season on the road at Southern Utah (3/1) and UMKC (3/3) before participating in The Summit League Tournament which begins on March 8.
