Cedar City, UT - In just her first season at IPFW, Mastodons fans are beginning to expect this kind of thing from freshman guard Jordan Zuppe.
Zuppe hit a huge three to send IPFW's last game with IUPUI to overtime.
Tonight at Southern Utah, Zuppe hit a jumper at the buzzer, again sending it to overtime, a game that IPFW would go on to win, 71-64.
Zuppe's jumper energized the 'Dons and they came out firing in OT. Sophomore forward Samantha Edwards started it off with a jumper from about 15 feet.
Sophomore guard Courtney Reed would five the Mastodons a 3-point lead with a layup, then it was Zuppe drilling a triple making it, 68-62.
The Thunderbirds cut it to four on a jumper from Caitlyn Sears, but from there it was all Mastodons.
Senior Johnna Lewis-Carlisle spotted up and drained a three and that was the ballgame.
Zuppe led all scorer's with 19 points, including five 3-pointers.
Reed tossed in a career-high 17 points, while Lewis-Carlisle added 12.
Sears led Southern Utah (6-22, 4-13 SL) with 18.
