
Kangaroos Shoot Down Mastodons

Kansas City, MO - The UMKC Kangaroos put on a three-point shooting exhibition against IPFW on Thursday night in Kansas City, Missouri, hitting 10 in a, 75-57 win over IPFW.
Reggie Hamilton and Nathan Balch set the tone on the 'Roos first two possessions drilling triples, quickly putting the Mastodons in catch-up mode.
UMKC did most of their damage from behind the arc in the first half, hitting six on the way to a, 40-24 halftime lead.
With that, the Kangaroos were pretty much content to trade baskets in the second half with the 'Dons, cruising to the 18-point win.
UMKC (11-19, 6-11) finished the game shooting 55.6% from behind the arc.
Dane Brumagin led four Kangaroos in double-figures with a game-high 23 points.
Junior guard Jakari Johnson was IPFW's leading scorer with 12 points. Junior forward David Carson added 11, while senior forward Jaraun Burrows chipped in 10.
The Mastodons turned the ball over 16 times in the game and were outrebounded, 37-27.
The loss drops the 'Dons to 12-16 overall and 9-8 in Summit League action.
IPFW will finish the 2007-08 regular season at Southern Utah on Saturday night. Game time is 9:30 p.m.
