Mastodon Men Place Sixth at Butler

AVON, Ind. - The IPFW men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth place at the 2008 Butler Spring Invitational, hosted at the Prestwick County Club in Avon, Indiana.
The Mastodons carded a 316 in the opening round before scoring a 319 on the second day, giving the team a two-day total of 635, tied with Summit League rival Oakland University. Evansville won the event with a final score of 609, with Cleveland State (612), Univ. of Indianapolis (612), IUPUI (626) and Cincinnati (631) placing ahead of the `Dons.
IPFW was led by senior Andy Campbell, who shot a two-day score of 153 (77-76), nine strokes above par, good for a tie of seventh place. Classmate Nathan Hoff also finished inside of the top 10 individually with a 154 (80-74), tying him for ninth place.
Tyler Haire finished in a tie of 29th with a 160 (78-82) while Hartley Mcleod rounded out the scoring four for the `Dons with a 171 (81-90), placing him 55th in the field. Eric Augustus was the final varsity golfer for IPFW, placing in a tie for 56th with a 172 (85-87) as Ryan Olbin, golfing as an individual, placed in a tie of 23rd place, shooting a 159 (76-83).
The team takes back to the links on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30 when the team competes at the Indiana University Invitational hosted in Bloomington, Indiana.
