Dayton, Ohio -- IPFW scored early Wednesday evening, but not late as the Mastodons fell to host Wright State in double-overtime 2-1.
Freshman Max Touloute scored IPFW's lone goal in the contest, his third in two matches.
The Raiders struck first as Wright State's Braden Fleak dribbled around IPFW senior goalie Michael Knitter to score from six yards out in the 13th minute. Fleak was assisted by Josh Grossman. Touloute's goal was an unassisted, one-on-one effort versus the keeper from nine yards away in the 29th minute.
The two teams would remain tied for next 73 minutes until Wright State's Roger Downing dished a pass to Adam Harp for a goal from three yards to end the match.
With the win the Raiders move to (1-4-0) while IPFW falls to (0-3-1).
Wright State out-shot IPFW 24-11 in the match, and took more shots-on-goal (9-5).
Colin Helmrich kicked the most shots for the Mastodons with three, and took two shots at goal. Also taking two shots each for IPFW were Raphael Martinez, Liridon Qafleshi, and Touloute.
IPFW's Knitter tallied seven saves compared to Wright State's Aaron Ritter who had five.
Next up for the Mastodons is the first match of a Sunday double-feature with IPFW's women's soccer team in the later contest. First kick for the men is 12:30 p.m. against SIU-Edwardsville.
