
Cougars Offensive Second Half Dooms 'Dons

Fort Wayne, IN -- Despite being knotted at zero during the intermission, IPFW (0-4-1) lost a tough-fought match to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (3-2-0) Sunday afternoon 2-0 at Hefner Soccer Complex.
The Mastodons looked poised to take control in the second half but two Cougar goals in under four minutes let SIU-E break away.
The first SIU-E goal was by Brian Groark assisted by Bob Ridder in the 57th minute. A few minutes later Myles Hensler would find Chris Anzalone for the Cougars' second goal.
Leading offensively for IPFW was Casey Bowman who had two shots and a shot-on-goal. Liridon Qafleshi also finished with two shots. Todd Mizicko and Colin Helmrich both had shots-on-goal for the Mastodons.
IPFW's Michael Knitter grabbed four saves while Southern Illinois' Nick Collico and Nick Frasca totaled one and two respectively.
Southern Illinois outshot IPFW 21-9 and had more shots-on-goal (7-3).
Next up for IPFW is the first match of the Bowling Green Invitational against Bowling Green State University Friday. First kick is set for 2 p.m.
