Indianapolis, IN- The IPFW women's soccer team was defeated by the Butler Bulldogs 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Butler Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana. With the loss, the Mastodons now move to 0-5 on the still young season.
The game was scoreless until the 23rd minute when Butler's Carrie Twyman chipped in a shot to the right post, to make the score 1-0. Twelve minutes later, the Bulldogs found the scoreboard again after a 40- yard shot from Molly Kruger, to take the score to 2-0. At the 59th minute mark, Carrie Twyman scored her second goal of the day, to finalize the score at 3-0. The Bulldogs move to 2-3 on the season.
The `Dons received their lone shot on goal from sophomore Tara O'Toole at 18th minute mark, and two shot attempts, one from sophomore Melanie Esposito and the other from freshman Lauren McCracken.
IPFW freshmen goalkeepers Meagan McLaughlin and Kristen McFadden combined for six saves on nine attempts.
The 'Dons will strive for its first victory of the season this Friday evening against Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
