Day One at Huskie Classic Suspended Due to Darkness

HUNTLEY, Ill.- The IPFW women's golf team participated in the 26th Annual Huskie Classic hosted by Northern Illinois University on Sunday, but round one was suspended due to darkness and the remaining holes, along with round two, will be held tomorrow.

Currently, the Mastodons are in ninth place with a team total score of 344. IPFW is nine shots behind eighth place South Dakota University. Northern Illinois is in first place after posting a team score of 296.

Sophomore Alyssa Turney carded a 79 to lead the Mastodons at the Whisper Creek Golf Club, while freshman Maggie Talbert fired an 87 to finish out round one.

Freshman Taylor Lamphier and sophomore teammate Breanna Hatter each posted a score of 89 to finish out day one. Freshman Mastodon Meredith Holt rounded out the IPFW lineup as she shot a first-round score of 93.

The completion of the first round is planned to start at 8:30 a.m. (CST) tomorrow morning. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. as originally planned.
