Fort Wayne, IN - IPFW trailed just three times in the entire match, and held the Wright State Raiders to below 20 points in all three sets, cruising to a 25-13, 25-18, 25-18 non-conference victory at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center on Tuesday evening.
The last non-conference match of the season, improving the team to 15-8 overall, helped the Mastodons clinch a .500 record on the season for the eighth consecutive season, and improve to 8-0 in the month of October. The eight-match win streak is also the longest for IPFW since 2006, when the team ended the season with nine straight victories

McGill had a match-high 15 digs, giving her 454 for the season, the eighth highest single-season total in IPFW women's volleyball history. Jen Milligan added 13 digs, with Megan Steenhuysen digging up a dozen kill attempts while dishing out 34 assists for a double-double, giving her a bakers dozen for the year and 19 over her two-year career. Alli Hook and Schlindwein each had five blocks, with Lamberti adding four in the win.
The Mastodons jumped out quickly to start the match, scoring the first four points before the Raiders answered back with four of their own to knot the score at four apiece. IPFW proceeded to rattle off nine of the next 13 points to lead 13-8. Wright State (8-15) fought back and closed the gap to a pair at 15-13, before IPFW ended the set with ten consecutive points, closing out the frame on a Lamberti service ace, giving the 'Dons a 25-13 opening-set win.
In the second set, the 'Dons forced the Raiders to side out on every possession but one, and ended the frame on a 7-1 run to take the middle of three sets 25-18.
IPFW never trailed in the third set, jumping out to a 3-1 lead early in the frame. Wright State tied the set at three, before the Mastodons used a series of runs to push ahead by five at 11-6. The Raiders climbed to within one at 12-11, but another series of short runs for IPFW pushed the team ahead again at 22-18. With the four-point lead, IPFW scored the final three points of the set, closing the match on a Lamberti block, giving the Mastodons their first sweep of the Raiders since October 31, 2006.
IPFW statistically dominated the match with a 20-kill advantage (44-to-24), a 13-dig advantage (60-to-47), and a 6.5 block advantage (10.5-to-4.0), while hitting .277 (44 kills, 13 errors, 112 attempts), the second straight match hitting .275 or better. The 'Dons held Wright State to .056 hitting percentage (24 kills, 18 errors, 107 attempts), the second lowest attack percentage allowed on the season.
Shaunda Sandifer had a team-best ten kills, while Jessica Woods had 13 digs for the Raiders.
