MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The IPFW women's golf team posted a 387 after its first round to stand at 18th place on Monday at the Memphis Women's Invitational at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee. The second round started but was suspended due to darkness.
Currently in first place is the host school, University of Memphis, and leads the tournament with 21-over 305. Second-place Mississippi State University is only two shots behind the Tigers with a team total of 307.
IPFW sophomore and Fort Wayne native, Alyssa Turney, fired a 95 for the squads low round of the day and leads the team with 92nd place after the first 18 holes.
In 93rd place Taylor Lamphier, a freshman and Homestead alum, came in second on the lineup for the Mastodons after she carded a 96 in the first round, while sophomore Breanna Hatter shot an opening round 97, falling one shot behind Lamphier for 94th place.
Freshman Maggie Talbert posted a 28-over 99 after for 95th place and freshman Meredith Holt rounded out the lineup for the 'Dons after she finished the day with a total score of 113 and currently stands in 96th place.
The Mastodons will continue their second round at the par 71, 6,176-yard layout tomorrow (Oct. 26) along with the start of the third and final round with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Ridgeway Country Club.
