MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The IPFW women's golf team completed two rounds at the Memphis Women's Invitational at the Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee, while the third round was canceled due to impending weather conditions on Tuesday.
The 'Dons finished with a team total of 762 after posting a 375 during the second round, improving 12 strokes from the first 18 holes.
Sophomore Alyssa Turney remained in the lead for the Mastodons on Tuesday and moved to 90th place overall after she posted a second-round score of 90 for the total of 41-over 183 (95-90)
Mastodon freshman Taylor Lamphier improved five strokes from her first 18 holes to finish with a 187 (96-91) for 91st place.
Checking in third for the Mastodons was freshman Maggie Talbert who carded a 95, improving by four strokes in the second round for an overall total of 194 (99-95) for a 93rd-place finish. Sophomore Breanna Hatter finished the tournament a spot behind Talbert in 94th place after posting rounds of 97 and 103.
IPFW's freshman Meredith Holt completed the Mastodons lineup after she finished in 95th place with a total score of 212 (113-99).
University of Illinois finished with a team total of 615 for first place, while Memphis and Missouri State each posted final scores of 53-over 621 to tie for second place.
The Memphis Women's Invitational wraps up the fall portion of the 2010-2011 season for the Mastodons and official Summit League action will start in the spring.
"This team has shown a lot of improvement already," said Head coach Jessica Steward. "After some more hard work this winter, I can't wait to see what we can accomplish in the spring."
