
'Dons Take Ninth at Rain-Shortened Butler Invite

AVON, Ind. - Led by freshman Alyssa Turney's 92, the IPFW Mastodons placed ninth overall in the rain-shortened Butler Spring Invitational at Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.
Turney's 92 paced the IPFW squad, placing her in 43rd place overall. Senior Nikki LeRose fired a 95 to finish two spots back in 45th place. Tosha Embry was one stroke behind LeRose, as her 96 gave her a share of 46th place in the event. Amy Funk-Montgomery, playing in her first tournament in the line-up, carded a 97 en route to a T-48 finish. Breanna Hatter rounded out the Mastodon scoring, as her 100 finished in 53rd place overall.
The hosting Butler Bulldogs won the overall team title, placing four individuals in the top 11 while finishing with a 311 team score ( 27).
IUPUI's Kristi O'Brien took medalist honors, with a three-over 74.
The 'Dons will return to action April 5th as they host the IPFW Spring Classic at Cedar Creek Golf Course in Fort Wayne.
