Fort Wayne, IN. - In the home opener of the regular season, IPFW's women's soccer team wins 3-2 against Youngstown State University in double overtime on Thursday evening at Hefner Stadium.

With a strong defensive first period from both teams, the second period started the action.

IPFW's Felicia Jones with the assist of Justine LeBlanc got the 'Dons on the board at the 48:03 mark during the second period off of a deflected shot from six-yards out. Just five minutes later Tara O'Toole gave the Mastodons the 2-0 lead with the help of Arianne Mason.

However, YSU came back two minutes later with an unassisted goal from Cori Stark off a free kick from 24-yards out getting past IPFW's goalie, Erin Nayler.

With six minutes remaining in the second period, the Mastodons lost their 2-1 lead from a scramble that went on in front of the net allowing YSU's Allison Ludwig to score the goal.

Neither team was able to get the lead once going into overtime, which led to another overtime with the score tied at 2-2.

Sophomore Tylar Allison came to the rescue in the double overtime period with a goal from 24-yards out at the 106:43 mark giving the Mastodons the 3-2 win.

Mastodon's Nayler had nine saves while Nicole Kline had six saves for the Penguins.

IPFW looks for its second win on Sunday with an away game against Indiana State University at 2 p.m.
