
IPFW Wins, 2-1, In Double Overtime Against Murray State

MURRAY, KY. - The IPFW women's soccer team wins in double overtime against Murray State, 2-1, on Friday at Cutchin Field.
This is the second double overtime win this season for the 'Dons, and they move to 2-4-0 while the Racers fall to 1-4-2 on the year.
With a little less than two minutes left in the first period, Felicia Jones scored her second goal of the season off of a right post shot to give the Mastodons the 1-0 lead before halftime.
IPFW was able to stop MSU from scoring until the 87:05 mark when Sophie Hargreaves, with the assist of Katie Wilson, got the Racers on the board to tie the score, 1-1 before heading into overtime.
Thirty seconds were left on the clock in the second overtime period when Jones attempted her second goal of the night, but MSU goalie, Tara Isbell, came up with the save.
However, Prospect, KY., native, Alaina Jones put the ball into the back of the net after a goalie deflection to give the 'Dons the win for the final score of 2-1. Jones has been able to battle her way back from two major injuries to get back on the field this season to earn the game winning goal.
MSU had a total of 11 saves, and IPFW had five. The Mastodons outshot the Racers by a 22-21 count.
IPFW is looking for another win on Sunday with an away game against UT-Martin at 3:00 PM.
