Skyhawks Fly Past Mastodons

MARTIN, Tenn. - The IPFW women's soccer team was unable to stop UT-Martin, and suffered a 2-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, IPFW falls 2-5-0, and UT-Martin improves to 3-4-1 on the year.
The first period was scoreless with IPFW goalie, Erin Nayler having two saves and Lauren Mackenzie having four saves for UT-Martin. The 'Dons had a total of four shots while the Skyhawks had six in the first forty-five minutes.
It didn't take UT-Martin long after the second period started to score twice and gain the 2-0 lead.
At the 52:29 mark, Sam Dunn got the ball past Nayler from a 25-yard free kick to put the ball in the top left of the net for the goal. Three minutes later, Abi Sanvee recovered a pass from teammate Jenni Duffy and was able to score off of a 10-yard shot, for the 2-0 score
The Mastodons were not able to recover after the Skyhawks gained a 2-0 lead, giving UT-Martin the win.
Felicia Jones had a total of four shots with two being on goal for the 'Dons. IPFW's Danielle Bishop and Kateri Till had two shots each, also.
Nayler had a total of seven saves and Mackenzie had five during the match. UT-Martin outshot IPFW 15-12.
IPFW is back in action on Friday at home against Ohio University at 7:00 PM.
