Fort Wayne, IN - Celebrating her 20th birthday, IPFW junior Felicia Jones tallied the lone goal of the match, as the Mastodons defeated the Ohio Bobcats, 1-0.

Jones' score came in the 42nd minute of a first half which saw IPFW outshoot OU 8-3. Tara O'Toole drove the ball deep into Bobcat territory, sending a lead pass into the box towards Arianne Mason. Mason one-timed the pass to her left to a streaking Felicia Jones who got a foot on the cross, beating the keeper far side.

The score is Jones' third of the 2010 season. Mason's assist pushed her to the team lead in points at seven.

Ohio turned the offensive tables in the second half, as the Bobcats managed to fire eight shots to just four from the home side. The Bobcats finest scoring chance came in the match's 72nd minute as Erin Schwenke fired a laser, headed for the upper-90, only to be stuffed by the outstretched arms of IPFW keeper Erin Nayler. Nayler and the defense would hold on through the remaining 18 minutes of the Bobcat barrage to seal the victory.

In tallying a five-save clean sheet, Nayler posted the first shutout win of her young IPFW career. Lisa Underwood led the IPFW offense with four shots with Mason and Jones each taking three attempts.

The Mastodons will begin a two-week hiatus before Summit League action swings into full gear on October 1st as the South Dakota State Jackrabbits visit Fort Wayne for the conference opener. Kick-off of that match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
