EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The IPFW women's golf team wrapped up its third event of the fall season with an eighth place finish at the DoubleTree Intercollegiate at Sunset Hills Country Club.
The Mastodons posted a 352 in their second round on Tuesday to finish at 147-over 723. Western Illinois University finished in first place with 56-over 632.
Alyssa Turney finished as IPFW's top performer, tying for 34th place with Evansville's Emily Fitzgerald. The sophomore finished at 175 after she carded an 80 during her final round.
Taylor Lamphier finished right behind Turney for 36th place when she fired an 88 during her final round giving her a total score of 177, 33-over.
Finishing in 43rd place was IPFW's Maggie Talbert after she posted a score of 184, while Breanna Hatter finished one spot behind Talbert with 187.
Meredith Holt posted rounds of 95 and 98 for her 49th place finish in the tournament.
The Mastodons will return to action in two weeks (Oct. 10-11) at the Northern Illinois University Huskie Classic at Whisper Creek Golf Course.
