Women's Golf Stands Tied for Seventh Place at Dayton Fall Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - Following the first 18 holes of the Dayton Fall Invitational, the IPFW women's golf team stands in a tie for seventh place after their solid performance led to a team total of 322 on Monday in Dayton, Ohio.
IPFW tied with the host school, Dayton and are one stroke behind sixth-place Valparaiso. Cincinnati leads the 13-team field with a total score of 303 while Ashland is in second place with 313. Third place is also a tie, with both Detroit and IUPUI finishing with 316. Oakland sits in fifth place after day one with a 319.
Freshman Sydney Bailey has lead the Mastodons in the fall season and continued to do just that at the NCR Country Club. Bailey carded a first-round score of 78 to force a four-way tie for 12th place overall.
Two strokes back from Bailey is freshman teammate, Allison Curtis. In the first 18 holes, Curtis fired an 80 to qualify for five-way tie for 21st place.
Junior Alyssa Turney is not far behind after she fired an 81 during the opening round and is currently tied for 21st place overall.
Sophomore Maggie Talbert stands tied for 41st place after she fired a low 83 while freshman Ashton Taft is tied for 74th place overall with a first-round score of 93.
The 'Dons will return to action tomorrow in a 9 a.m. EST shotgun start at the NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.
