Women's Golf Concludes Fall Season at Dayton Fall Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - The IPFW women's golf team fired a second-round score of 321 to finish the Dayton Fall Invitational with ninth place among the 13-team field after posting a 36-hole total of 643.
After tying with the host school, Dayton, yesterday, the Mastodons finished one stroke back from the eighth-place Flyers (642). Cincinnati finished the invitational 15 shots ahead of the field after posting a team total of 605 (303-302) while Summit League foe's IUPUI and Oakland finished in second and third place with 620 and 624, respectively.
Freshman Allison Curtis took the lead for the 'Dons on day two of the invitational after firing a low round of 78. Curtis fired an 18-over 158 total to finish tied for 17th place.
Mastodon freshman Sydney Bailey tied with sophomore-teammate Maggie Talbert for 30th place overall. Bailey posted an 84 to go with her previous round of 78 while Talbert fired an 83 and 79 during the 36 holes.
Right behind Bailey and Talbert was junior Alyssa Turney. Turney carded an 82 during the second round to finish the invitational with a total score of 163 (81-82) and tied for 37th place.
Freshman Ashton Taft rounded out the Mastodon lineup with a 66th place-tie overall. Taft improved 11 strokes from yesterday to finish with a 175 total (93-82).
With the conclusion of the Dayton Fall Invitational, the Mastodons will now prepare for the upcoming spring season.
