Mastodons Finish Huskie Classic with 12th Place

DEKALB, Ill. - The IPFW women's golf team closed out the Northern Illinois Huskie Classic in 12th place after recording a 36-hole total of 707 (360-347).
The 'Dons finished two strokes behind 11th-place finishers Illinois Chicago and three strokes behind Maryville for 10th place. SIU-Edwardsville had a team total of 646 to finish in first place while Loyola finished in second place with a 657.
Freshman Sydney Bailey continued to lead the Mastodons through day two after she shot an 81 to go with her previous round of 88 to finish the Huskie Classic tied for 23th place overall.
IPFW sophomore Maggie Talbert finished tied for 42nd place after she recorded a two-round total score of 175 (88-87), while freshman Allison Curtis had consecutive 90s to finish with a score of 180 for 56th place.
Freshman Ashton Taft improved seven strokes from her first round to finish the invite with a 185 (96-89) and tied for 64th place.
Two strokes behidn Taft, Mastodon junior Alyssa Turney carded scores of 94 and 93 to finish in 68th place.
IPFW will return to action next week (Oct. 9-10) at the Western Illinois Autumn Invitational in Macomb, Ill. at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course.
