Mastodons Stand in Fourth Place at Western Illinois Autumn Invitational

MACOMB, Ill. - The IPFW women's golf team sits in fourth place at the Western Illinois Autumn Invitational after firing a team total of 340 in Macomb, Ill. at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course.
The Mastodons are currently led by junior Alyssa Turney, who finished in the top-10 on Sunday afternoon. Turney, stands tied for seventh place overall after she posted an 18-hole total of 80.
Four strokes back from Turney is freshman Ashton Taft. Taft, a Snider High School alum, recorded a first-round score of 84 to put her tied for 17th place.
Freshman Allison Curtis carded an 87 at the 6,082-yard par 72 course to finish in 29th place overall, while freshman Sydney Bailey is two-strokes back tied for 33rd place after firing an 89.
Rounding out the Mastodon lineup, sophomore Maggie Talbert stands tied for 41st place after she carded a first-round score of 92.
Playing as an individual, senior Tosha Embry is currently tied for 44th place after she posted a 95 on Sunday afternoon.
Loyola leads the invitational in first place with a team score of 315 while SIU-Edwardsville is right behind with a score of 316 for second place. Host school, Western Illinois, is in third place after totaling a 323.
The conclusion of the invitational will take place tomorrow in a 10 a.m. EST shotgun start.
