MIMS, Fla. - The IPFW women's golf team currently sits in 15th place with a 384 total after round one at the Sunshine Spring Classic in Mims, Florida on Friday, which is being hosted by Detroit Mercy.
Lehigh University leads the invite with a team total of 321 while the host school, Detroit, is in second place after posting a first-round total of 329.
IPFW sophomore Alyssa Turney leads the 'Dons after she posted an opening round of 88 (41-47), and is in an eight-way tie for 43rd place.
Six strokes behind Turney is junior Tosha Embry with a total of 94 (48-46) in a four-way tie, while freshman Taylor Lamphier posted a round of 99 for 83rd place.
Rounding up the lineup for the Mastodons is freshman Maggie Talbert in 87th place and sophomore Breanna Hatter in 90th place.
The Mastodons will finish the invite tomorrow in an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Walkabout Golf and Country Club.
