AVON, Ind. - After round one at the Butler Spring invitational, the IPFW women's golf team currently sits in 8th place after posting a team total of 356 at the Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Indiana.
The host school, Butler, is leading the tournament with a team total of 327, while IUPUI and Loyola are tied for second after they each posted a 330.
Leading the 'Dons are two Fort Wayne natives, sophomore Alyssa Turney and freshman Taylor Lamphier. Turney and Lamphier posted a 87 (42-45) in the first round on the 5980-yard par 71 course to tie for 27th place.
Two shots behind Turney and Lamphier sits junior Tosha Embry in 33rd place after she fired an 89 (42-47), while freshman Maggie Talbert finished day one with a 93 (46-47) for 44th place.
Sophomore Breanna Hatter rounded up the lineup for the Mastodons after she posted an 100 (52-48) to check in for 51st place.
IPFW will return to action tomorrow in a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start to finish out the invitational.
