Mastodons Finish in an Eighth Place Tie at Butler Invite

AVON, Ind. - In their best performance of the spring, the IPFW women's golf team fired a second-round total of 344 to close out the Butler Spring Invitational with a team total of 700 (356-344) to tie with Evansville for eighth place in Avon, Indiana.

Sophomore Alyssa Turney lead the Mastodons with a total of 171 (87-84) to earn a three-way tie for 23rd place while freshman Taylor Lamphier was two shots behind Turney in a five-way tie for 27th place with a 173 total (87-86).

Junior Tosha Embry had a final score of 176 after posting an 89 yesterday and shot a second round of 87.

Improving six shots from yesterday was freshman Maggie Talbert who finished with a total score of 180 (93-87). Sophomore Breanna Hatter posted final round of 99 to finish an 199 in the tournament.

The Mastodons return to action when they host the IPFW Spring Classic on Sunday and Monday (April 3-4) at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne in an 12:00 p.m. tee-time.
