SKOKIE, Ill. - In the final regular season tournament for the IPFW women's golf team, junior Tosha Embry led the Mastodons as the team placed a first round total of 357 for eighth place at the Loyola Invitational at the Evanston Golf Club.
Embry carded an 82 on day one for her best round of her collegiate career and sits in 19th place overall at invitational.
Sophomore Alyssa Turney posted an 85 to tie for 27th place at the par-71, 5991-yard course.
Freshman Maggie Talbert and sophomore Breanna Hatter each fired a 95 in the first round to tie for 47th place while freshman teammate Taylor Lamphier is one stroke and two spots behind Talbert and Hatter in 49th place after posting a 96.
Western Illinois sits in first place after finishing with a team total of 311 while host school, Loyola, finished round one in second place with a total of 315. Northern Illinois and Chicago State are currently tied for third place after both schools posted a 317.
The invitational will wrap up tomorrow with round two in a 10:00 a.m. (est) shotgun start.
