Fort Wayne, IN - The last exhibition match of the season for the Mastodons resulted in a 1-1 draw with the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Friday evening at the Hefner Soccer Complex in Fort Wayne.

The 'Dons had plenty of chances to score in the first period off of five corner kicks, but could not get on the board.

Both teams were scoreless until the 17:58 mark when EKU's Devon Saini scored from 20 yards out from the right side to the left post to get the ball past IPFW goalkeeper Kristen McFadden.

McFadden kept EKU from getting the 2-0 lead after an impressive save with one minute left in the first half.

The Colonels took the 1-0 lead into halftime despite the Mastodons chances to even the score.

In the 34th minute, Arianne Mason came close to scoring for IPFW off of a pass from Lisa Underwood and managed to get the ball behind the goalie in EKU's box, but took a shot and hit the post.

In another close play for the 'Dons, Underwood received the ball in the EKU box from five feet away but nailed the crossbar preventing IPFW from tying the score once again with 28 minutes on the clock.

Just a few minutes later, Underwood scored off of a header from Tylar Allison's corner kick to beat the Colonels' Lyndsay Vance far post to tie the match at the 1-1 final score.

IPFW had a total of eight corner kicks while EKU had four and the 'Dons outshot the Colonels 11 to seven.

McFadden played 76:30 minutes for the Mastodons with three saves while IPFW freshman Krysta Hedrick finished out the match with 13:30 minutes in goal.

The Mastodons will return to action on Friday (Aug. 19) against Indiana State in the first regular season match. Kick off is set for 1:00 PM at the Hefner Soccer Complex in Fort Wayne
