Junior Rhea Proctor's 60th minute goal edged the Mastodons past the Aces

Evansville, IN - In the last non-conference match of the season for the IPFW women's soccer team, the Mastodons came out on top, 1-0, against Evansville due to a second-half goal from junior Rhea Proctor on Saturday evening.
The 'Dons win came after three-straight 1-0 losses to improve to 3-5-0 on the year while the Aces fall to 1-7-4.
While both teams struggled offensively during the first half with two shots each, the Mastodons took possession in the second half. In the 60th minute, senior Brittany Climmons had a long cross to Proctor, who then headed the ball over UE's goalie, Chaviel Harrison, for Proctor's second goal the season and the 1-0 final.
Freshman Amber Lawrence and sophomore Caroline Castelli helped lead the Mastodons defensively, while senior Kristen McFadden and freshman Krysta Hedrick split the 90 minute match in goal, which included IPFW's two saves from Hedrick.
Sophomore Elise Mamanu-Gray had two shots for IPFW, with one on goal. Lawrence and senior Tara O'Toole each tallied one shot for the 'Dons.
Both teams recorded five shots, while UE had six corner kicks and iPFW had three. IPFW led in fouls, 11-6, and had one yellow card.
IPFW will now travel to Oakland for the first conference-match of the 2011 season on Saturday (Oct. 1). Match time against the Grizzlies is set for 7 p.m.
