IPFW Women's Golf Completes Saluki Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. - With a 36-hole total of 676 (336-340), the IPFW women's golf team finished in 15th place at the Saluki Invitational on Tuesday in Carbondale, Ill., at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course.
The defending champion and host school, Southern Illinois, won the event for the sixth time after finishing with 608 (301-307). Iowa came in second place after posting straight-rounds of 309 while Summit League foe IUPUI finished in third with 627 (318-309).
Freshman Ashton Taft improved six strokes from yesterday after posting a 77 for her lowest round in her young career to tie for 26th place. Freshman Allison Curtis shot an 81 to go with her previous round of 80 for a 31st place tie.
In 61st place, junior Alyssa Turney finished the invitational with 168 (82-86) while freshman Sydney Bailey finished in 90th place overall after carding a 36-hole total of 188 (92-96).
Sophomore Maggie Talbert rounded out the Mastodon lineup with a score of 191 (91-100) and a 91st place finish.
The 'Dons will return to the course when they host the third annual IPFW Spring Classic on Sunday and Monday (April 1-2) at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
